In May, Poland celebrates Labor Day on May 1, Flag Day on May 2, and Constitution Day on May 3. May 1 and 3 are public holidays, May 2 are not. If you take an extra day off on Monday, which the Poles do, you can have a long weekend. Such a May weekend in Poland is called Majówka, in 2022 it starts on Saturday – April 30 and will last until Tuesday, April 3.
In most cities in Poland on Sunday – May 1 and Tuesday – May 3, public institutions and large stores will not work. Therefore, refugees will not be able to get PESEL and solve other bureaucratic issues these days. You won’t be able to shop in stores. In some cities, state institutions and shops will not work on Monday, May 2. For example, in Warsaw on May 2, the point for providing services to refugees from Ukraine , located at the National Stadium of the city, will not work.
Products can be bought in small private markets and markets operating at gas stations, railway stations, airports.
