The first details of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1: the composition of the CPU and GPU

April 05, 2022, 10:23

Four months have passed since the announcement of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and Qualcomm still has not introduced its sub-flagship companion in the face of the Snapdragon 7 series. The network informant Digital Chat Station decided to shed the first light on it. According to him, the CPU segment will differ from the older brother by only one core: instead of one Cortex-X2 with three Cortex-A710, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will receive four Cortex-A710 cores. The set of energy-efficient cores will remain unchanged: four Cortex-A510. The second notable change will be the GPU: now it is Adreno 662. Presumably, the new product will be able to surpass the Snapdragon 778G, but will be inferior to the Snapdragon 870. The debut of the chipset is expected before the end of the second quarter of 2022.
