The American automaker Rivian has faced problems with the interior trim of electric vehicles. Buyers of R1T electric pickups and R1S crossovers who ordered Ocean Coast trims received notices this week to push delivery to late fall due to a more difficult trim process, Electrek reports.
However, Rivian shared news about new software updates that may be of interest to users. Specifically, the company said it is working on updates that include a dash cam feature that pairs with the Gear Guard security system.
Electric vehicles will also have a “pet mode” in which the ventilation and air conditioning system of the electric vehicle will work to ensure the comfort of the pet in the cabin while the driver, for example, is shopping at the grocery store. And another upcoming feature is a sand mode that will be included as a standard feature in the software package.
Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe posted on Twitter a video of the R1S electric SUV driving through the desert, showing the new mode in action in slow motion.
