When an alert and hostilities are declared, Ukrainians are forced to hide in basements and bomb shelters. Dampness, lack of sunlight and a lot of people weaken the immune system and increase the risk of developing tuberculosis.
Despite the war, Ukrainians can get free medical care for tuberculosis in any institution that continues to operate. The patient can count on diagnostics and inpatient treatment, as well as receive a special course of medication for home therapy.
If you are worried about a prolonged cough for more than two weeks, there are traces of blood in the sputum, chest pain, loss of appetite and weight, constant fatigue – consult a TB doctor. Direction is not required.
If you have moved to a safer place and continue your TB treatment in a hospital, then go to the nearest TB center – they will provide you with the care and treatment you need.
Where to find a working anti-tuberculosis institution and a phthisiatrician
The address and contacts of the nearest medical facilities will be provided by the operator of the NSZU contact center at 16-77.
The list of operating institutions was also collected by the Public Health Center of Ukraine .
To continue treatment for tuberculosis at home under the supervision of the primary, you need to contact your doctor. If there is a connection with the doctor, then ask how to get help. If contact is lost or you have moved to a safer location, find a new family doctor to help restore therapy and accompany your treatment.
