In recent years, there has been a rapid development of high-speed smartphone charging technologies. The undoubted leaders in this path are Chinese brands, in particular – OPPO. At the MWC 2022 exhibition taking place these days, the company decided to update the record by introducing 240W SuperVOOC Flash Charge technology. This is twice as much as the few current champions (like iQOO 9 Pro) are able to offer. At the test bench, the company demonstrated how a prototype smartphone with 4500 mAh is charged up to 50% in 3.5 minutes and up to 100% in 9 minutes.

There is no talk of a commercial launch of the technology yet, but very soon the debut of the new OnePlus model will take place, which will be the first to receive the second novelty of the day – 150-W SuperVOOC charging. OPPO claims that after 1600 charge cycles, the battery capacity drops by only 20%. At the same time, traditional charging technologies create the same wear for another 800 cycles.
