Together with Redmi K50 and K50 Pro, Xiaomi presented the Redmi K40S , the successor to the Redmi K40 model introduced a year earlier. From the point of view of the filling, today’s hero differs from her only in a couple of moments. The camera configuration has not changed, but the main module has acquired OIS stabilization while retaining the previous 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 sensor, known since the Redmi K20. The second innovation was double the charging power compared to the usual K40 – now it is 67 watts.
The device is based on the same Snapdragon 870 with a 4500 mAh battery. The screen also remained unchanged: a 6.67″ AMOLED E4 panel with a frequency of 120 Hz and FHD + resolution, covered with flat glass. But in terms of appearance, Redmi K40S has nothing in common with its predecessor and looks more like a representative of the K50 series.
But the main surprise was that for this upgrade, Xiaomi asks even less than for the regular K40 a year ago: from 1799 yuan for the basic 6/128 GB version. In addition to it, there are also configurations with 8/128, 8/256 and 12/256 GB of memory. Prices are shown in the table below, and sales in China start today, March 17th.
