Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will get spatial audio support

April 27, 2022, 23:30

The new public beta of Android 13, which became available today to all owners of Pixel 4 and newer, revealed an interesting detail. Files found in the first build hint that the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro could get Apple’s equivalent of Spatial Sound, a special surround sound mode that lets you feel and hear music from all angles.

In the case of Apple, this requires not only headphones with support for this feature or with Dolby Atmos support, but also tracks with special mastering. Google doesn’t have either at the moment. Perhaps in the fall, the company will introduce not only this feature in the full version of Android 13, but also headphones with surround sound support. What if YouTube, along with YouTube Music, will undergo major changes? Wait and see.
