While even the most budget Android smartphones support face unlock, the flagship Google phones Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro lack it. But it would definitely come in handy for owners who have suffered from poor-quality work of the under-screen finger scanner for several months. The thing is that the only Google smartphones with the Face Unlock feature were the Pixel 4 and 4 XL, on which the company was burned due to constant problems in their work . However, the “corporation of kindness” is still trying to implement Face Unlock, though only for the older Pixel 6 Pro.
This was reported by an XDA enthusiast who studied the sources of the latest beta version of Android 12. However, it is far from certain that the company will dare to introduce Face Unlock into an almost one-year-old device – most likely it could become a feature of the Pixel 7 family.
