A little over a year ago, Qualcomm said goodbye to the crown of leadership in the mobile chipset market, losing it to MediaTek. In 2021, the latter only consolidated the success, which is now reflected in the financial report. So, MediaTek’s annual income soared to $17.6 billion, which is 53.2% more than it was in 2020, and also became a new record in the company’s history. For the first month of 2022, revenue amounted to $1.55 billion, continuing to grow compared to the same period a year earlier (+23.1%). At the same time, the manufacturer predicts further growth, which, according to the results of the first quarter of 2022, is expected to be in the range of $4.7 – 5.1 billion (up to + 10% relative to Q4 2021). By the way, in December we talked about the alignment of forces in the mobile chip market in 2021.
