TP-Link is not new to the smartphone market for a long time and over the past few years has been able to establish itself as a manufacturer of inexpensive, but fairly high-quality models, which are also provided with a two-year warranty. The new budget device Neffos C9 Max came to us for review, so let’s check if the company managed to make an affordable smartphone that can be used in everyday life.

Package contents Neffos C9 Max
The smartphone comes in a small box, inside which there is a charger with 5V 1A parameters, a USB-microUSB cable and paper documentation.
Appearance
Most of the front panel of the Neffos C9 Max is occupied by a 6.09-inch display, in the upper part of which there is a slot with a conversational speaker.
The front camera in the device, as is already customary, is made in the form of a “droplet”. The frames on the sides and top of the screen are the same, but the lower one is larger and has the brand logo on it.
The power button of the smartphone is located on the right sidewall, and the volume control on the left. At the same time, the manufacturer placed them at a convenient height.
The back cover of the Neffos C9 Max is made of glossy plastic, it is a little easily soiled, but in general it does not feel cheap. And it’s good that the camera unit only protrudes slightly above the plane of the panel.
Neffos C9 Max is available in two colors: red and dark blue. It was in the last color that the device was in our review. Visually, it gives off a slightly mother-of-pearl tint and thanks to this it looks interesting.
I liked the presence of the missed notifications LED and the 3.5 mm audio jack. The only thing missing is a fingerprint scanner.
Display Neffos C9 Max
Neffos C9 Max has a 6.09-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1560×720 pixels (HD+). The aspect ratio is 19.5:9, while the screen covers 87.6% of the front panel. There is no oleophobic coating, but the automatic brightness sensor is present.
Brightness is adjustable from 17 to 428 cd/m2.
There are no additional display color settings, only night mode.
On the street, the picture on the screen looks normal. And if we talk about it in general, then most of all I lack contrast and saturation, but in most situations information from it is read normally.
Hardware platform and interface
The Neffos C9 Max is equipped with a Mediatek Helio A22 MT6761 processor , which consists of 4 Cortex-A53 cores at 2 GHz, and also includes a PowerVR GE8320 video adapter. To make it easier to navigate, one of the competitors of this chip is the Snapdragon 425.
The amount of RAM in the smartphone is 2 GB, and the user 32 GB.
It is possible to increase the amount of internal memory through the use of microSD memory cards.
Synthetic tests for this model show modest results. Two gigabytes of RAM and an entry-level processor are not enough to call the Neffos C9 Max productive, but it copes with basic tasks such as browsing, social networks and instant messengers. Accordingly, it will not work to play demanding games on the device, but simple casual or arcade games are easy.
I also note that it has support for LTE Band 1/3/5/7/8/20, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS / A-GPS, GLONASS and GALILEO. There are no complaints about the quality of mobile network reception, as well as complaints about the earpiece with a microphone.
Out of the box, Neffos C9 Max runs Android 9.0 with NFUI 9.0 skin installed on top. It is simple and straightforward, while there are not very many settings in it, so it will not be difficult to figure out its interface.
Camera
The smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The interface of the camera application is quite simple and somewhat minimalistic.
In general, the photo quality is comparable to other budget models. The front camera, in turn, is more suitable for video calls than for selfies.
The maximum video recording resolution is Full HD.
autonomy
The capacity of the built-in battery is 3000 mAh, which is not much by modern standards, but if you take into account not the most productive processor, then in practice this battery is enough for 2 days of work at an average load.
In the PCMark Work 2.0 test, battery life at maximum brightness was 5 hours and 11 minutes, which is an average result.
