Despite the fact that neither Apple nor Google even hinted at a possible shutdown of the App Store and Google Play in Russia, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called on IT workers to create “their own online store, because the App Store and Google Play may not be able to download apps soon.” It is proposed to “create your own ecosystem”, which, apparently, should become something similar to Huawei HarmonyOS and its AppGallery.

Based on the experience of the Chinese tech giant, we can conclude that creating your own platform is a complex and time-consuming process, and therefore not fast. In addition, if in the case of Android devices, the creation of alternative platforms is feasible in theory, then the implementation of an alternative to the App Store for iOS devices cannot but raise questions due to the fundamental features and closeness of the apple OS. According to the politician, the launch of an alternative app store for Android will take place by the summer of this year.
