Samsung continues to grapple with the aftermath of the gaming services (GOS) story. In an effort to maintain a good pace of sales , the company continues to increase subsidies launched in early April in South Korea. All three major carriers in the country have doubled subsidies for the Galaxy S22, cutting its price from 999,000 won at launch to 549,000 won, according to Reuters. For example, a direct competitor in the face of the iPhone 13, which launched more than six months ago, is being sold for 1,090,000 won with subsidies of about 150,000 won. It is noted that telecom operators cannot be the source of such large one-time discounts: “When subsidies increase simultaneously in all three telecommunications companies, this means, as a rule, that the manufacturer made a contribution.”
