For several years now, Samsung has continued to implement gaming optimization services (GOS) in its smartphones, designed to improve the performance of devices under load. In fact, they do exactly the opposite, reducing the fps in games even more, which is why even a year ago we published three ways to turn them off . Through the efforts of enthusiasts, it turned out that the “black list” of GOS includes 10,000 (!) Applications in which Samsung smartphones are ordered to work half-heartedly.
At the same time, among them were not only games, but also everyday applications like the Camera, Google Chrome, Spotify and the Microsoft Office suite. At the same time, Geekbench and 3DMark benchmarks, on the contrary, were not included in the list of slowdowns. A simple experiment with renaming 3DMark to Genshin Impact resulted in a significant drop in benchmark scores. It is alleged that gaming services are criticized even by employees of Samsung itself, and the manufacturer has already launched an investigation. The full list is available in this Excel file .
