Equipment
Vertical box Kitfort KT-2829-1, as usual, is made of brown cardboard with purple inserts. On the front side we see a schematic representation of the device, the slogan for humidifiers: “I will improve the climate in your home”, the address of the manufacturer’s website and the full name of the model.
Technical characteristics of the device and contacts of the manufacturer and importer are located on the sides of the package. When we opened the box, we found in it:

At first sight
The body of the device is made of plastic in white and light purple colors (the manufacturer also offers this model in white-green and white-turquoise versions). The belt at the bottom imitates leather with embossing and seams.
In appearance, Kitfort KT-2829-1 resembles a spaceship, as it was drawn in old comics.
Most of the volume of the device is occupied by a water tank. At Kitfort KT-2829 it is transparent – the liquid level can be seen from afar.
Water is poured through the top cover, which also serves as a diffuser that directs the flow of fog in the right direction. The humidifier nozzle can thus rotate through 360°.
A shaft passes through the center of the tank, through which water mist rises from the evaporator. A simple spring valve is placed at the bottom of the tank: a cartridge with a ceramic filler that filters water is installed on it.
The projections on the underside are responsible for the correct positioning of the tank on the base. You can place it in the only correct position – so that the manufacturer’s logo on the container matches the control panel on the case.
In the center of the working chamber of the humidifier, under the base of the shaft, there is a piezo emitter that turns water into cold steam. Next to it is a float level sensor and the counterpart of a spring valve that dispenses liquid from the tank.
At the bottom of the base is a retractable tray for aromatic substances. Inside it is a foam rubber sponge, on which, if desired, you can apply a few drops of a perfume composition. The instruction prohibits adding any substances directly to the tank or working chamber.
The air intake holes are located on the underside of the base, next to the fragrance container. In the center of the bottom panel there is a label with the serial number of the device, brief technical data and information about the manufacturer.
The device rests on three plastic legs, slightly protruding beyond the size and reinforcing the resemblance to a spaceship. They are not equipped with any anti-slip pads.
Instruction
The user manual is a 20-page brochure printed on thick glossy paper with excellent printing quality. Drawings and diagrams explaining the structure of the device are easy to read and easy to read.
The instructions describe in detail about the device of the humidifier, its preparation for operation and further use. The document describes in detail the cleaning and maintenance of the appliance. The Troubleshooting Table lists self-repairable problems, and ends with a manual of specifications and a list of precautions for use.
The brochure is written in great detail, consistently and clearly.
Control
The control panel is located on the front side of the base and consists of four touch buttons grouped around a round LED display, which is covered with dark glass.
Their purpose is intuitively clear to anyone who has ever encountered ultrasonic humidifiers.
The button in the upper right corner turns the device on and off. By default, after turning it on, it switches to the second, medium power level.
The intensity of the fog can be adjusted with the sensor in the lower right corner. Successive presses select the humidity level from 1 to 3, while the display shows the selected value: L1, L2 and L3, respectively. A long press on this button turns on night mode.
The auto-off time is set using the “Timer” button. Available values are from 1 to 12 hours in 1 hour increments. If the function is activated, the display shows “time” and “hour”.
Automatic mode is activated by pressing the “Auto” button. By successive touches on it, the target humidity is set in the range from 40% to 70% RH in 5% increments.
Each action with the panel is accompanied by a sound signal.
Exploitation
Before using the humidifier for the first time, unpack the humidifier, remove all packaging material, and wipe the body of the device with a damp and then dry cloth.
The device is recommended to be installed on a dry stable horizontal surface at a distance of at least 10 cm from the edge of the table and other objects. It is acceptable to put it on the floor, but the manufacturer does not advise doing this if there is a carpet: moisture can ruin it.
For more uniform humidification, place the device at a height of half a meter to a meter, and position the outlet so that water mist does not fall on furniture, electrical appliances, books and walls.
When the device is turned on, it makes a barely audible noise from the fan, driving air through the working chamber. This sound is not annoying at all and is noticeable only in absolute silence and at close range. On the bedside table, he, perhaps, will interfere with sleep, but it is quite possible to put him in the far corner of the bedroom.
In night mode, the humidifier turns off the backlight of the display and switches to medium power.
It is very useful that the device is able to set the target humidity and stick to the set value, suspending operation as soon as it is reached. In this mode, you can not be afraid of excess dampness.
When the water in the tank runs out, a red warning light appears on the display and the unit goes into standby mode. To resume work, you should refill the tank and press the “Power” button.
Care
The surface on which the humidifier is installed should be wiped daily: this will reduce the likelihood of streaks.
When dirty, the body of the device itself is wiped with a damp and then dry cloth.
It is recommended to change the ceramic filter every 6-12 months, depending on the quality of the water (you can order a replacement filter for the KT-2828 humidifier on the manufacturer’s website).
To effectively remove scale and other deposits, you need to use a special humidifier cleaner, 9% vinegar or a solution of citric acid (2 tablespoons per liter of water). The product is poured into the tank for 15 minutes, after which it is drained and the plaque is cleaned off with a brush with soft bristles.
The working chamber should be cleaned with a damp cloth moistened with a weak solution of vinegar. If it is very dirty, you can pour a solution of citric acid or vinegar into it and leave it for 15 minutes. It is important to prevent liquid from getting inside the humidifier.
Do not use abrasive materials for cleaning.

During the standby period, the humidifier consumes 0.3 watts.
The noise emitted by the device during operation does not depend on the humidification power and is approximately 34 dBA. Kitfort KT-2829 is a quiet device.
The built-in hygrometer of the device slightly overestimates the readings: the value of relative humidity is approximately 10% -15% higher than the readings of the laboratory device. This should be taken into account when setting the automatic humidification mode.
A full tank, filled under the cork, holds 3940 ml of water. Another 300 milliliters are placed in the working chamber of the device.
The maximum throughput achieved by us during practical tests was 225 ml/h.
To check how effective the humidifier is in real conditions, we turned on the device in a room of about 18 m² with a ceiling height of 2.5 m. The test was carried out in the conditions of January St. is of course included.
To minimize the influence of external factors, doors and windows were tightly closed. The room was thoroughly ventilated between tests. Measurements of temperature and air humidity were carried out automatically, there were neither people nor animals in the room.
Turning on the device at full power, we left it for a long time and waited for an empty tank. The measurement results can be seen on the graph.
Starting in a very dry (just over 25%) room with a nearly constant temperature of 25.8°C, the unit ran for 19 hours and 10 minutes. He quickly raised the relative humidity to about 37% and held this figure for almost 15 hours.
Thus, the maximum performance of the device in real conditions turned out to be somewhat lower than the declared one, and the battery life, respectively, was slightly more than indicated in the passport.
findings
The Kitfort KT-2829-1 ultrasonic humidifier has a performance that is quite acceptable for its price category, good economy and a long battery life even at the maximum power level.
The disadvantages of the humidifier, we will attribute perhaps a little less performance than stated in the technical specifications. But in small spaces, Kitfort KT-2829 will prove to be a very useful device.
