The other day it was announced the termination of the deal on the merger of NVIDIA and ARM . The reason is the dissatisfaction of the regulators, who saw this agreement as a threat to competition in the market. Today, Microsoft is concerned with the issue of interaction with regulators, which announced that it has reached a historic agreement to buy Activision Blizzard for $68 billion. Obviously, as a precautionary measure, the Americans decided to publicly explain their plans to develop their ecosystem. The official blog published an article talking about the importance of an open market and free access to content.
In addition to describing the principles and benefits of this concept, Microsoft spoke about the prospects for Activision Blizzard games on the PlayStation and Nintendo. The potential new owner has reiterated its promise to provide access to Activision Blizzard games (Call Of Duty is explicitly mentioned) as part of its current agreements with Sony, and now also announced that the PlayStation will continue to receive these beloved projects after the agreement expires. The report says that Microsoft will make every effort to support the Nintendo platform, so regulators should not worry. Whether this applies to all Activision Blizzard projects, or just existing franchises, is not entirely clear. One thing is clear – the formal approval procedure for the largest deal in history has begun. How this procedure will end, we will find out in a few months.
