During a press conference in Poland, Boris Johnson was confronted by a Ukrainian woman who asked the Prime Minister why he would not support a no-fly zone over the country, asking: “What’s the alternative?”
The individual also criticised the failure to sanction Roman Abramovich, the Russian oligarch who owns Chelsea Football Club.
The person later identified herself as Daria Kaleniuk, the executive director of the Anti-Corruption Action Centre, and appeared close to tears while questioning the Prime Minister.

3. No-fly zone ‘not on the agenda’
A no-fly zone is not on Nato’s agenda as it could involve shooting down Russian planes, the Mr Johnson said.
“It’s very, very important to understand that Nato is a defensive alliance, this is a time when miscalculation and misunderstanding is all too possible.
The Prime Minister added: “When it comes to a no-fly zone in the skies above Ukraine, we have to accept the reality that involves shooting down Russian planes… That’s a very, very big step that is simply not on the agenda of any Nato country.”
Mr Johnson also confirmed that Britain will not fight Russian forces in Ukraine, as he said such a step is “not on the agenda”.
