Phil Foden
Amazing piece of skill set up the shot which led to City’s second and the youngster proved virtually unplayable for large spells of the game. 8
Bernardo Silva
Busy and impossible for United to pin down as he darted all over their half of the field. Superb cross led to the first goal. 7
Substitutes
Ilkay Gundogan for De Bruyne (79 mins) – 7
De Bruyne might have fancied a hat-trick but was sensibly taken off to avoid injury and fatigue. Gundogan might have scored and set up the fourth.
Substitutes (not used): Carson, Sterling, Gundogan, Jesus, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Delap, Mbete, McAtee.
Manchester United
David de Gea
No chance with the first two goals but lucky when he raced out of his area rashly later in the half. Unlucky with a deflection for City’s third. 7
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Badly exposed by City’s repeated forays down his wing, and not helped by Lindelof’s poor play. As City pressure mounted after the restart looked completely outclassed. 4
Victor Lindelof
Pulled out of position for the City opener and equally at fault for the second. There was a reason City did most of their attacking down his right-hand side. 5
Harry Maguire
Like his partner, was badly positioned for the De Bruyne goal as he returned to the starting line-up. Nothing he could do with slight deflection on the Mahrez goal. 5
