Paris St-Germain’s training base has been vandalised with expletive-laden graffiti after Lionel Messi was booed following their latest Champions League humiliation.
Slogans were found daubed at the Camp des Loges hours after Messi was targeted during PSG’s 3-0 Ligue 1 victory over Bordeaux on Sunday.
The match was PSG’s first since their stunning 17-minute collapse in the final half-hour of their Champions League last-16 tie against Real Madrid. Neymar was also subjected to whistles after scoring in Sunday’s game.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo appeared to be the main targets of the vandals.
One tag read, “Nasser, Leo out,” while another accused owners Qatar Sports Investment of having overseen “10 years of mediocrity”.
Among the other tags were “Leo FDP” (FDP being an abbreviation of the French for “son of a b—-”), and, “Leo/Nasser NTM” (NTM being short for “f— your mother”).
Other messages included, “We want warriors not s—s”, “Leonardo get out”, “Be worthy”, “You make us ashamed”, “Paris will never be Qatari”, and, “Paris is us”.
The graffiti had been cleaned up by Monday morning.
Also jeered during Sunday’s game was Georginio Wijnaldum, who joined PSG from Liverpool last summer.
That was despite the Holland midfielder not having played against Real last week.
On Saturday, the Collectif Ultras Paris group of PSG fans published an open letter calling for Al-Khelaifi to resign.
“The unacceptable and inevitable disappointment that we feared and foresaw has unfortunately come to pass,” the letter read.
“How can you have the mindset to move mountains when your season seems to begin in February and you play domestic competitions at a pedestrian pace?
“How can you have a genuine game plan when your squad is nothing but a bunch of ‘stars’ who barely complement one another?
“How can a coach be the respected leader of the changing room when he is clearly not the true decision maker?
“How can you rebuild a squad when eternal substitutes can happily see out their contracts with such comfortable salaries?”
