Passengers have been hit by another British Airways glitch at London Heathrow with bags not delivered and flights delayed.

People waiting to pick up their luggage on Saturday evening were told no more bags would be delivered that day.

Hundreds of people waited hours in the terminal but were forced to go home without their luggage.

The airline said in a statement: “We’ve apologised to customers whose bags have been delayed due to operational constraints. 

“We know how frustrating this is and our teams are working incredibly hard to return luggage as soon as possible.”

Other flights were also hit by delays caused by an apparent shortage of ground crew.

Passengers took to social media to express their frustration, with one woman tweeting she still did not know where her bag was: “I’ve phoned but you don’t answer. I’ve messaged but no reply. I’ve been to the airport but you have no staff. This is beyond ridiculous.”
