Percy dress, £220, Aspiga; Floral dress, £220, Aspiga (available May)
Their corduroy Percy dresses in particular mimic the Vampire’s Wife silhouette: nipped-in waist, high-neck, three-quarter length sleeves and long-skirt – a design that holds your shape as if it has been tailored to you, but never feels uncomfortable. Since buying a Percy dress in dark navy earlier this winter, I wear it all the time – and best of all, it cost £220, making it at least £1,000 cheaper than The Vampire’s Wife. The Aspiga design also now comes with a short or mid-calf hemline in teal or dark navy.
Corduroy isn’t, of course, right for a wedding, but this summer Aspiga is capitalising on the success of the Percy and releasing the same style in a heavy floral print on a creamy cotton background. It comes with the same bold shoulders (which balance out your hips so well) and frilled sleeves. Available from 15th May, make a note in your diary for any midsummer nuptials – or indeed, any jaunts to the Caribbean…
